}Use this endpoint when you have a
pick_id and want to check that pick’s proof. Its payload and nonce are available after settlement when the entry is opened. To read every published pick, use the full ledger.
This route is public and needs no API key or subscription. Its sealed, opened, and uncommitted shapes follow the full ledger’s rules, including withholding the nonce and backed side while a committed pick is live.
Parameters

Key response fields
The envelope’sobject is pick_of_the_day_ledger_entry, and data contains the entry. Read state first, then commitment_version for a committed entry.

is_free_selection | Whether this is the designated selection for signed-in free accounts. |
supersedes_pick_id | The ID of the pick it replaced, or null when it replaced none. |
commitment_version | Version 1 preserves the original eight-key proof payload. Version 2 uses the decimal-string pick_id and integer version: 2 instead of pick_rank. |
commitment_hash, commitment_nonce, payload | The same state-dependent proof fields as the full ledger. The nonce and payload are withheld until settlement. |
Errors
A missing or unpublished pick returns404. An invalid pick_id returns 400; use a positive decimal string from a published pick response.

What it does not return
- An unpublished selection or the backed side of a live committed pick.
- A proof written after kickoff or a newly serialized version of a historical proof.
- An outcome inside the committed payload. Results can be corrected while the committed pick remains unchanged.
Caching
Send the response’sETag in If-None-Match. An unchanged entry returns 304 Not Modified with an empty body.Headers
Opt into strict query-name validation. The default is compatible: unknown names are ignored and reported in X-Query-Ignored. With strict, an unknown name returns 400 bad_request with error.reason unknown_query_parameter before the handler runs, including when its percent escape is incomplete.
Available options:
strict Conditional GET validator from a previous ETag. Matching values return 304 Not Modified with an empty body.
